Little Bo-Peep has lost her sheep,
And can't tell where to find them;
Leave them alone, and they'll come home,
Wagging their tails behind them.
The fifth piece in the charming series of costumed mice based on the Olde Mother Goose nursery rhymes illustrated by Kate Greenaway, Little Bo-Peep measures a diminutive 3" tall. She is designed in mouse form of the finest mohair plush and jointed at the neck and shoulders. Little Bo-Peep features realistic coloring, glass eyes, inset whiskers, resin hands and feet, and a fine leather tail.
From the original English nursery rhyme of the same name, Little Bo-Peep is costumed in a ruffled Empire-waist frock made of fine ivory silk with a coral-hued silk sash. A wide-brim hat sewn of miniature natural straw braid with a matching silk ribbon completes her charming period ensemble. In one hand, Bo-Peep holds a finely-detailed shepardess crook made of pewter and wood. Little Bo-Peep joins previous, sold out issues in the Mother Goose Mice Series.
This particular piece is number five of only five ARTIST PROOFS made and comes directly from the R. John Wright archives in pristine as-new condition.
