This delightful edition is titled "Teddy Roosevelt - Mississippi Bear Hunt." It depicts President Roosevelt refusing to shoot a bear cub while on a hunting expedition. According to the legend, this incident sparked the birth of the teddy bear in 1902. The rest, as they say, is (real) history!

Teddy Roosevelt - Mississippi Bear Hunt measures 15" tall. The humorous caricature figure of Roosevelt is fully jointed and made of all-wool felt with a smiling portrait face, a mohair wig and moustache, and skillfully hand-painted facial features - including an open mouth with teeth. He is dressed in all-felt sporting outfit with a belt containing miniature metal bullets. His outstanding custom-made accessories include: hinged brass and crystal eyeglasses, hand cobbled leather shoes, and an authentically detailed replica rifle made of walnut and metal. In one hand he holds up a frightened, fully-jointed mohair bear cub with a leather nose and glass eyes.

Teddy Roosevelt - Mississippi Bear Hunt was produced in 2002 in a limited edition of 500 pieces to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Teddy Bear. Every detail has been meticulously researched for the utmost in authenticity. This delightful set comes enclosed in a deluxe RJW presentation box and includes a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity and the form for owner registration.
