R. John Wright Dolls, Inc. was commissioned by Puffin Publishers to create "Goldilocks & The Three Bears" for a photo-illustrated book written by famed children's book author Lauren Childs and published in 2008.
Goldilocks measures 12 1/4" tall and is made of all-wool felt with molded hand painted features. Fully jointed for playful posing, her golden curls are made of fine imported mohair and her childlike hands are sewn with individual fingers. Dressed in light red cotton summer dress with a hand smocked bodice, striped stockings, red leather shoes. The Goldilocks in this set is the sample for the red dress doll as seen in the book. Includes Baby Bear's bowl.
Baby Bear is made of wool/mohair and measures 8" tall. He is fully jointed and features detailed felt paw pads with inserted resin claws and a sculptural face with German glass pupil eyes. Baby Bear comes wearing a short tailored felt jacket.
Papa Bear measures 16" tall and is made of fine alpaca plush with detailed felt paw pads with inset resin claws. He is fully jointed and features internal movement in the wrists with weighted paws. He has a sculptural face with German glass pupil eyes and an open mouth with felt tongue and resin teeth. Papa Bear is outfitted in a corduroy vest with leather buttons. Tucked in the flap of his vest is his custom-made pipe. His outfit is topped by his authentic felt Tyrolean-style hat.
Mama Bear measures 15" and is similarly constructed. She wears a beautifully embroidered felt cape lined in cotton calico. [Also included is a separate felt and cotton apron.]
