GONE WITH THE WIND™ is regarded as one of the greatest films of all time. Faithfully adapted from Margaret Mitchell's best-selling novel, the film is set in the American South against the backdrop of the Civil War and Reconstruction era. Upon its release in 1939, the film was immensely popular, becoming the highest-earning film made to that point. Over seventy-five years later, it still remains the most successful film in box-office history.
We are pleased to present the "GONE WITH THE WIND" Doll Collection - celebrating the classic 1939 motion picture. Brought to life for the first time in the art of molded felt, the premiere doll in the series is Bonnie Blue Butler - the beloved and tragic young daughter of Scarlett and Rhett.
Bonnie Blue Butler™ is a 8 1/2" all-felt doll with ball & socket joints at the hips, shoulders and neck for expressive posing. A sculptural torso and limbs and separately sewn fingers add to her realism. Bonnie has a wig made of the finest mohair and a lovely molded felt face with delicately hand painted features. She is costumed in an authentically detailed Victorian riding outfit made of the finest all-silk velvet in a rich cobalt blue shade with tiny covered buttons and a lace collar. Atop her head is a matching molded felt hat with a fetching crimson feather. On her feet are dainty hand-cobbled leather boots and around her wrist is the strap of her leather riding crop.
Produced in an edition of only 100 pieces worldwide, Bonnie Blue Butler™ comes beautifully boxed with a numbered tag and corresponding certificate of authenticity.
Each item in the Gone with the Wind™ Collection is fully-licensed and produced at the R. John Wright studio workshop in Bennington, Vermont.
