CAPTAIN COREY was first made in 1982 as an exclusive for the Enchanted Doll House in Manchester, Vermont. He was 17" tall and part of the Little Children series which marked the very first RJW child dolls. Now, as part of our 40th Anniversary celebration, we are re-issuing Captain Corey in a darling 'cabinet-size' edition!
The miniature version of Captain Corey is made entirely of the finest all-wool felt. He measures a diminutive 7 1/2 inches tall and is fully jointed with the RJW ball & socket system. Corey's torso and limbs are sculpturally defined and his tiny hands have individually sewn fingers. His molded face is delicately hand painted and his wig is made of the finest mohair.
Captain Corey is costumed in a vintage-style 2-piece sailor suit tailored of fine cotton broadcloth. The navy blue suit is set off with a mini-woven tartan plaid bow and custom made pewter buttons. On his feet he wears cotton stockings and hand-cobbled leather shoes and on his head a felt beret features a grosgrain ribbon embellished in gold leaf with the title 'S.S. Enchanted.' Corey proudly holds a beautiful replica of his original wooden toy steamboat handcrafted at the RJW workshop.
This edition of 'Captain Corey' is limited to only 100 pieces worldwide. He comes enclosed in a deluxe RJW presentation box with a signed certificate of authenticity and the forms for owner registration.
