We are happy to present "Mickey's Sweetheart" - the exclusive edition for this year's Disney Doll & Teddy Bear Weekend. Based on the immortal Disney character Minnie Mouse, this piece joins last year's exclusive event edition Mickey Mouse. Mickey's Sweetheart is constructed of the finest all-wool felt with molded and hand painted features and a leather nose and tail. Closely based on Minnie as she appeared in the 1930's during the heyday of the Mickey Mouse color shorts, Mickey's Sweetheart measures approximately 12" tall and is fully jointed at the neck and shoulders and hips for playful posing. She is dressed in the trademark polka dot skirt, molded high heel shoes, and flower bedecked hat also made of felt. Like previous classic RJW dolls from Snow White and Pinocchio, the R. John Wright rendition of Minnie Mouse is destined to become the definitive version of this beloved character.
Mickey's Sweetheart will be produced in an very limited edition of 500 pieces worldwide. She will make her US debut at the 2006 Doll and Teddy Bear Weekend event at Walt Disney World on May 19th where registered guests will have the opportunity to acquire her for their collection. (Matching numbers to Mickey Mouse will be provided to guests attending the event subject to availability.) Mickey's Sweetheart will come enclosed in her own deluxe RJW presentation box and will include a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity and the forms for owner registration. Two special One-of-a-Kind auction pieces will be offered. The first is based on the classic 1937 Mickey Mouse short, "Brave Little Tailor" featuring Mickey and Minnie. Also created exclusively for the event is "Time for a Little Something" a special One-of-a-Kind to commemorate Winnie-the-Pooh's 80th birthday.
