Raggedy Ann™

An important new series from R. John Wright Dolls premiered in 2004: THE RAGGEDY ANN™ COLLECTION. This exciting series was based faithfully on the immortal artwork of Raggedy Ann's creator, Johnny Gruelle in his enormously popular series of Raggedy Ann books which began publication in 1918 with Raggedy Ann Stories.

The large-size R. John Wright Raggedy Ann doll- shown in the photo above - measures approximately 17" tall and is constructed entirely of custom-made all-wool felt with delicate coloration, leather covered button eyes, and wool yarn hair. Jointed at the neck, shoulders, hips, and knees for expressive poseability, this marks the first time that Raggedy Ann™ has been produced in the felt medium! Her removable clothing includes a custom-dyed felt dress with tiny individually-applied pattern of felt leaves and flowers, and a cotton apron with a blue-trimmed cotton hankerchief tucked into the pocket. This is the most authentic Raggedy Ann doll ever designed based on the original Gruelle illustrations.

Raggedy Ann was produced in 2010 in an edition of 1000 pieces. She came enclosed in a custom hand-cut presentation box with Gruelle artwork on the lid, a descriptive booklet, a numbered certificate of authenticity, and the forms for owner registration.
