GENTLEMAN MOUSE

Gentleman Mouse

We are pleased to announce the addition of the Gentleman Mouse to our highly-acclaimed Beatrix Potter Collection. This delightful character made his appearance in the book The Tailor of Gloucester first published in 1903. The Tailor of Gloucester was Beatrix Potter's own favourite among all her books. The story is set in "the time of swords and periwigs and full-skirted coats." While toiling in his shop one Christmas season, the Tailor looked up from his work to hear a tapping noise coming from the nearby sideboard. Lifting a teacup gingerly, out stepped a wee gentleman mouse dressed in finery who bowed politely before hopping down and disappearing under the wainscot!

Measuring a diminutive 3" tall, the Gentleman Mouse is made of the finest mohair plush and is jointed at the neck and shoulders. He features realistic coloring, hand embroidered features, black glass eyes, inset whiskers, resin hands and feet, and a leather tail.

Based exactly on the Beatrix Potter illustrations, Gentleman Mouse is outfitted in a handsome period costume consisting of a beautifully tailored coat with a lace cravat and wrist frills, decorative trim, and a matching tricorne hat. No detail has been overlooked in bringing this charming Beatrix Potter™ character vividly to life! The Gentleman Mouse joins the previously-released Mouse Tailor from the same book.

Gentleman Mouse will be produced in a limited edition of just 300 pieces worldwide. He will come inside a deluxe R. John Wright presentation box with a signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity and the forms for owner registration. Subject to availability, the matching-number service will be provided to the corresponding Lady Mouse or previous pieces in the Beatrix Potter collection. Please contact your RJW dealer for further details.
