Raggedy Ann creator, Johnny Gruelle, eventually wrote and illustrated over forty Raggedy Ann and Andy books, all capturing his unique and brilliant vision of childhood. One of the most popular books in the series, Raggedy Ann & Andy and the Camel with the Wrinkled Knees, was first published in 1924. As part of the miniature Forever Friends collection made exclusively for The Toy Shoppe in Richmond, Virginia, this diminutive version of the Camel with the Wrinkled Knees measures just 6 1/2" tall and is faithfully based on the original Gruelle images. Camel is made of the finest all-wool felt and is jointed at the neck for increased expressiveness. He has delicately hand painted features and coloration, glass "shoe-button" style eyes, hand-stitched details, and a red leather bridle. Produced in a limited edition of 350 pieces worldwide, the miniature Camel with the Wrinkled Knees will come enclosed in a custom-made presentation box with Gruelle artwork on the lid. Included with each is a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity and the forms for owner registration. Subject to availability, collectors will have the opportunity to obtain matching numbers to the Raggedy Ann & Andy Forever Friends dolls and future issues in THE TOY SHOPPE series. Don't miss out on this delightful cabinet-size collection.
