Raggedy Ann creator, Johnny Gruelle, eventually wrote and illustrated over forty Raggedy Ann and Andy books, all capturing his unique and brilliant vision of childhood. Along with Raggedy Ann and Andy, Gruelle created several other unforgettable characters. One of the most beloved is "The Little Brown Bear." This charming little character appeared in the book of the same name first published in 1920. He later joined the other toys on an adventure in Marcella, A Raggedy Ann Story in 1929. As part of the miniature Forever Friends collection made exclusively for The Toy Shoppe in Richmond, Virginia, this diminutive version of the The Little Brown Bear measures just 6" tall and is faithfully based on the original Gruelle images. The Little Brown Bear is made of the finest wool and mohair plush and is fully jointed. He has delicately airbrushed coloration, glass "shoe-button" style eyes, and hand-stitched details. His whimsical outfit is made of custom-dyed colors of all-wool felt and cotton and includes: buttoned trousers; shirt with appliqued polka dots; colorful pieced hat; and tiny hand cobbled leather shoes with felt spats. As a final perfect touch, his tail pokes through a patch on the back of his pants! Produced in a limited edition of just 350 pieces worldwide, this miniature version of The Little Brown Bear will come enclosed in a custom-made presentation box with Gruelle artwork on the lid. Included with each is a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity and the forms for owner registration. Subject to availability, collectors will have the opportunity to obtain matching numbers to other pieces in Forever Friends series. Don't miss out on this delightful cabinet-size collection!
