| NOW SHIPPING! | BROWNIE DUDE |
We are pleased to announce the addition of The Dude to our acclaimed PALMER COX BROWNIE COLLECTION. This whimsical character made his appearance in Cox's first Brownie book published in 1887 titled "The Brownies, Their Book."
Based on the original Palmer Cox illustrations, the Brownie Dude is made of the finest all-wool felt and jointed at the neck and shoulders. He has a molded felt character face, hand painted features, a mohair wig, and incredibly tiny sculptural hands. Measuring 9" tall (without his hat), the Dude has heavy wire inside his legs to enable him to be self-standing.
When the Brownies were at the height of their popularity, it became a parlor game to choose one's favorite Brownie character. The Dude represented wealth and prosperity and he was among the most popular Brownies. The Dude wears a natty, outfit consisting of cuffed trousers, waistcoat, stiffened collar with bow tie, and swallow-tailed jacket. On his head he wears a handsome top hat and on his feet, cobbled leather shoes with felt spats. The Dude comes complete with his handcarved wooden cane with gold leaf trim and a gold plated monocle - both finely detailed custom-made accessories.
Produced in a limited edition of just 250 pieces, The Dude comes enclosed inside a deluxe R. John Wright presentation box with a signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity and the forms for owner registration. Subject to availability, the matching-number service will be provided to previous pieces numbered 250 and lower in the Palmer Cox Collection.
We are delighted to announce that by special arrangement the Brownie Dude will be available exclusively from RJW authorized retailer, DOLLMASTERS. The Dude is the second Dollmaster's Brownie following the introduction of Uncle Sam last year. Please contact:
