For 2007, we are excited to announce the addition of Appley Dapply ™ to our acclaimed Beatrix Potter™ Collection. This whimsical mouse character made her appearance in Beatrix Potter's charming book of verses titled "Appley Dapply's Nursery Rhymes." Ideas for Appley Dapply's Nursery Rhymes had been in Beatrix Potter's mind for many years before the book was eventually published. Time and again other stories were chosen instead and the project was laid aside. Finally, Beatrix revived Appley Dapply in response to her publisher Frederick Warne's request for a new book in 1917. The book was unusual in that it featured a series of rhymes which Beatrix wrote herself over a number of years. The book begins with the following verse:

Measuring a diminutive 3" tall, Appley Dapply™ from R. John Wright is made of the finest mohair plush and is jointed at the neck and shoulders. She features realistic coloring, hand embroidered features, black glass eyes, inset whiskers, resin hands and feet, and a leather tail.

Based exactly on the Beatrix Potter illustrations, Appley Dapply™ comes wearing a dainty cotton apron with a pocket and hand embroidered border design. She wears incredibly tiny blue leather slippers on her feet and comes holding a custom-woven basket and hand painted plate with four pies! Like previously-released Beatrix Potter™ mice from R. John Wright, no detail has been overlooked in bringing this beloved character vividly to life.

This special 90th Anniversary Edition of Appley Dapply™ will be produced in a limited edition of just 250 pieces worldwide. She will come inside a deluxe R. John Wright presentation box with a signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity and the forms for owner registration. Subject to availability, the matching-number service will be provided to previous pieces numbered 250 and lower in the Beatrix Potter™ series.
